In the early hours of this Friday, August 14, a rumor began to circulate that the famous Anabelle doll had “escaped” from its display case where it is exhibited at the Warren Occult Museum, in Connecticut, United States. Quickly the information, without sustenance, became a trend on Twitter.

However, this is false information and there is nothing to worry about. Anabelle has not escaped and is not causing any trouble in the world.

So what happened?

According to the information collected by the heavy.com website, the rumors began after a news item about British actress Annabelle Wallis circulated. Wallis, best known for playing Grace in Peaky Blinders, told in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter how did he get the co-star of The Mummy, Tom Cruise, run with her in front of the camera.

According to a quote from the media, a YouTube user would have created the confusion when he translated the interview into Chinese and changed to “Annabelle escaped.”

On the other hand, the newspaper Globe from Brazil pointed out that the speculation came after Warner Bros., the film’s distributor, published a video in which it showed that the doll was bored inside the Los Angeles studios during the period of confinement due to the COVID pandemic. -19.

In the video, almost two minutes long, you can see how Anabella copes with the first days in quarantine doing various activities to pass the time. However, on her day 141 she flees the place in a golf cart, properly secured with a mask.

The doll from which the horror film is inspired is on display at the Warren Occult Museum. The property is owned by the American investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, and other objects that were the subject of their investigations are also housed in the place.

The real Anabelle doll is made of cloth and even looks harmless. However, according to the Warrens, the toy belonged to a nursing student, Donna, who shared an apartment with her friend Angie. Both began to notice abnormal events with Anabelle, so they contacted investigators. These events can be seen in the first sequence of The spell, released in 2013.
