The traditional Gran Central Christmas Fair arrives virtually – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORKNew York City is known during the Christmas season for its many different flea markets and holiday fairs that offer different local items to give away on the day of the celebration. One of those is inaugurated every year inside the iconic Grand Central terminal, but, due to the pandemic, this 2020 brings a new proposal.

This time the traditional Grand Central Christmas Fair, which is considered the largest and oldest in New York City, will take place virtually from Monday, November 16 to December 24, 2020. This new format will allow people to safely enjoy different options and unique gifts from more than 40 local and artisan vendors, 24 hours a day.

“The Grand Central Terminal Holiday Fair has long been one of New York City’s favorite and most sought-after attractions during the holiday season,” said Catherine Rinaldi, president of the MTA Metro-North Railroad. “We are delighted to present this year’s Christmas Fair in a virtual format, which means that we can continue a long tradition, while ensuring the safety of our visitors and travelers within the Terminal.”

Vendors use locally sourced and ethical materials to create men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, children’s gifts, jewelry, home accessories, Christmas decorations, and more. The virtual Christmas Fair, it says in a statement, captures all the festive magic and quintessential refinement of the fair as if it were in person.

The virtual event offers a tantalizing insight into each artisan’s offerings, linking directly to their online stores for easy shopping. For the first time ever, select Grand Central food and lifestyle stores are also featured at the Christmas Fair, including Diptyque, L’Occitane, Murray’s Cheese, Warby Parker and many more.
