The Ten Highlights of The Game Awards | Overview

The Game Awards was held last night. The starting gun was only after midday and many were unable to watch live as a result. The number of announcements turned out to be quite large and for everyone who was shocked by seeing all the news on the site, we have listed the ten hottest announcements for you.

The Initiative announces Perfect Dark

The Initiative is working on a new Perfect Dark game. It reveals that via a new trailer.

Little is currently known about the game, except that it is ‘still in an early development phase’. The trailer shows a world collapsing under natural disasters and the first first-person action.

Perfect Dark is a classic shooter from Rare. The original was released for the N64 in 2000. It is still unknown whether it is a reboot or a sequel.

Back 4 Blood from makers Left 4 Dead will be released in June 2021

Turtle Rock Studios showed new trailers for their upcoming game Back 4 Blood during The Game Awards.

A CGI trailer of the game was first shown during The Game Awards, after which a gameplay segment was broadcast. Both trailers can be seen below. The game should be released on June 22 next year on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and Xbox One. The Closed Alpha begins December 17.

First CGI teaser of new Mass Effect game shown

A first short CGI teaser of the new Mass Effect game has been shown at The Game Awards.

The trailer shows some images of the universe and then something that looks like a snowy ice planet. There are not many further details. It is also not clear what the new Mass Effect game will be called and when it should be released.

Shadow Warrior creators are working on Evil West

Focus Home Interactive and Flying Wild Hog Games are working on Evil West. The game was revealed at The Game Awards 2020.

In Evil West, players are one of the last agents in a vampire hunter institution and must protect the American Frontier. The gameplay consists of ‘stylish’ firefights and expanding your arsenal with weapons and perks. The game’s campaign is also playable in co-op.

Ark 2 unveiled at Game Awards 2020

Studio Wildcard unveiled Ark 2 at The Game Awards.

In the first trailer of the game you can see that Vin Diesel from the Fast & Furious films, among others, plays the role of Santiago. Although the trailer doesn’t confirm it, it appears to be a single-player game in which players fight monsters and dinosaurs.

Pearl Abyss showed the first gameplay footage of their new mmo Crimson Desert at The Game Awards.

Crimson Desert is a mmorpg with an extensive single player campaign. The game takes place in the same universe as Black Desert Online, Pearl Abyss’s previous mmo.

Maker Dead Space unveils new space horror game The Callisto Protocol

Glen Schofield, creator of the Dead Space series, has unveiled the space horror game The Callisto Protocol with his new studio Striking Distance.

He did this during The Game Awards. According to Schofield, the studio’s goal is to create the most terrifying space horror game ever. As in Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol features monstrous-looking creatures in space.

First trailer new Dragon Age game revealed

The first full trailer for Dragon Age 4 was revealed at The Game Awards last night.

The first images include a look at Solas, a character from Dragon Age Inquisition who apparently plays a larger role in the next part. A full name for the game has not yet been revealed: the trailer calls ‘the next Dragon Age project’.

Check out the first gameplay footage of Warhammer 40k: Darktide

During The Game Awards, the first gameplay of the previously announced Warhammer 40k: Darktide was revealed.

The first person shooter lets players blast in the Warhammer world while scanning the surroundings with a flashlight. Like many other Warhammer titles, players take on hordes of enemies in teams of four.

New gameplay from Hood: Outlaw and Legends shown

A new gameplay trailer of Hood: Outlaw and Legends aired at The Game Awards last night.

Hood: Outlaw and Legends was developed by Sumo Digital and published by Focus Home Interactive. In the game, players can create their own character and then experience the legend of Robin Hood.
