More than 4,500 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in France in the past 24 hours, health authorities announced on Friday.

Over the last day, 4,586 new positive diagnoses were recorded, against 4,771 Thursday, according to Public Health France.
This is the second day in a row, since May, that the bar of 4,000 new cases over 24 hours has been crossed.
And the percentage of positive tests continues to increase slightly, to 3.4% from 3.3% on Thursday. 41 new foci of grouped cases (clusters) have been detected, also indicated Public Health France.
In total, 4,745 people are hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection, a figure down slightly (they were 4,748 on Thursday, 4,806 on Wednesday).
The number of patients in intensive care (379) is stable compared to Thursday (380).
At least 30,503 people have died in France since the start of the epidemic (23 more deaths since Thursday) – one of the worst results in the world -, including 19,992 in hospitals and 10,511 in social and medico-social establishments (a figure which dates from Tuesday and will be updated on August 25).
Seven departments (Bouches-du-Rhône, Guyana, Hérault, Paris, Sarthe, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne) are classified in high level of vulnerability, also underlined Public Health France. Thirty-one departments are at a moderate level of vulnerability.
