The Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGSS) commemorated the 56-year anniversary of the Supply Department, of the Administrative Sub-management, which was created in 1965 through Agreement 432 of the Board of Directors of the institution.

“We continue to work with dedication and responsibility, because behind all the documents and purchases lies the lives of many patients and we have the commitment in our hands,” said María Isabel Álvarez, in charge of the department.

The unit is made up of 50 workers, mostly women, and no matter the schedule, they are all committed to Social Security and to each of the affiliates to provide them with a quality service and warmth.

“It has been a great challenge to carry out all the actions carried out in the Supply Department, we have seen progress because there is a vital commitment and dedication in each of the workers and without them the achievements would not have been achieved,” said the Evelyn Odeth García Lemus, administrative assistant manager.

Edgar Ponce, from the International Purchasing area, expressed feeling proud to be part of the Supply Department; In addition, he stressed that thanks to the collaboration of all his colleagues, they are able to make supplies and the consolidated purchase of medicines that arrive in a prompt and effective way to the affiliates and right holders.
