When, on June 6, 2005, at 8.30 am, the first clapper of the endless Street in the Hostivař studios closed, none of the performers knew that the audience would watch them in the same scenery and in the same series for 15 years. The pilot part of the endless series was first broadcast on September 4, 2005 and took place in the familiar backdrop. According to the daily Aha! they were originally supposed to last only three years, but they serve well even after 15 years.

Forty pages of text
Today, the actors are in charge of two separate crews, each of which has to shoot enough material for ten parts within 18 days a month. “Well, it’s been fifteen years, so I don’t remember much. But I remember what surprised me then – first the beautiful scenery and then a lot of text to learn. There was so much of that text that I felt like I was going crazy for the first few days. It could have been forty pages, and that’s really a lot, “recalled the representative of Vlasta Pešek, Rudolf Hrušínský Jr., who is one of those who have been playing in the Street from the very beginning.

There will be no cake this year
Unfortunately, due to coronavirus, he and his colleagues did not cut the cake this year. As part of security measures, they allegedly drank only via webcam. And the gates of the studios will not open, as is customary at the beginning of September, on Day with Nova. Viewers can walk through the studios at least virtually.
