KOMPAS.com – A member of the police from the Central Banjarmasin Police Buser team, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Bripka M was swept away in the river when he ambushed a criminal with the initials F, Friday (9/4/2021) night.
The incident took place behind the Pasar Sudi Mampir Police Station, Central Banjarmasin.

During the ambush, Bripka M had time to wrestle with the suspect so that the two of them fell into the Martapura River.

Bripka M waved and asked for help. Seeing this, M’s colleague jumped in and tried to help M. However, the effort failed.
“When the members jumped about 4 meters from Bripka M, apparently there was a speedboat passing and it caused quite a large wave to emerge,” said Deputy Head of Banjarmasin Police AKBP Sabana Atmojo in an official statement, Saturday (10/4/2021).
Both of them were declared missing and could not be found by officers who carried out the search assisted by residents.
Until now, joint officers continue to search Bripka M and suspect F.
