The sinking in Gertrudes Street yesterday was not connected with “Rīgas siltums” heating networks – in Riga

Yesterday in Riga, Gertrudes Street, the collapse of the road surface was not related to the heating networks of JSC “Rīgas siltums”, the company’s representative Agnete Bušta said.

She noted that on June 30, “Rīgas siltums” did not make any disconnections in the area of ​​Gertrudes Street, as well as no leakage of green water was detected there, thus the invasion of the pavement had no connection with the heating networks of “Rīgas siltums”.

It has already been reported that on Tuesday evening in Riga, Gertrudes Street, a car broke into the road surface, Ilze Dimante, a representative of the Riga City Council Traffic Department, confirmed to LETA.

She added that she had no information that people had been harmed as a result.

As reported, two cars entered the pavement on Gertrudes Street on June 5 – BMW and Mercedes Benz.

Mercedes Benz got out of the pit on its own, but the other vehicle was waiting for the help of special equipment.

According to the agency LETA, the collapse in Ģertrūdes Street had formed during the hydraulic tests that took place on the entire right bank of the Daugava.

During the tests, the heating networks are tested with increased pressure and this time the heating network is cracked, resulting in leaching. The specific networks were built in 1963 and have served their time, “said Linda Rence, a representative of JSC” Rīgas siltums “.
