Marketplace users were logged into the profile of others by mistake – Computer – News

Several users of Marktplaats were able to view profiles of others this weekend due to an error on the website. The users were accidentally logged in with the account of others. It concerns at least 24 users.

The error made it possible to see all information from another user’s profile. In addition to the name, address and telephone number, this also concerned the purchase history of users, such as conversations with buyers and previous orders.

RTL Nieuws made inquiries with Marktplaats after users noticed the problem on Gathering or Tweakers. According to Marktplaats, this is an error due to an update to the site that was recently implemented.

The exact number of users affected is unknown. According to Marktplaats, 24 users reported the problem. Marktplaats has reported the data breach to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
