Creating a remake that will transform the legendary action RPG System Shock into a form understandable to today’s players is a meritorious activity, but the result does not look as spectacular in the end as we would probably imagine.

The author of the game, Warren Spector, has confirmed that the game is almost ready.

Fans agreed on its development via the Kickstarter platform as early as 2016, at which time the promised graphics did not look fascinating at all. From the newly published trailer, I’m not afraid to say that from today’s point of view it is rather below average.

But let’s not be discouraged, the content is especially important, and according to the author of the original game, Warren Spector, it hasn’t gotten very old. In particular, the story of the savage artificial intelligence that terrorizes the space station’s crew is said to be even more relevant than ever due to rapid technological advances in recent years.

The main added value of the remake is more in its accessibility. The interface underwent major modifications, high difficulty and a somewhat confusing journey in virtual reality were optimized. On the other hand, it should still be the original System Shock, which places high demands on the player.

We didn’t find out the release date this time either, but it shouldn’t take too long, the maximum is the end of this year. In the basic edition, the game will sell for almost a thousand crowns, in addition to the PC, console owners should also see it over time.
