The comedy Sun, hay and some faces is certainly known to all of us. The funniest part of this film is the final wedding fight, which has become an integral part of this hit comedy. However, the filming of the famous trilogy was also accompanied by unpleasant circumstances, which Zdeněk Troška decided to recall in a recent interview.
At the beginning of the interview, Troška boasted that despite the extraordinary success of the first part of the trilogy, not a single fan showed up at the filming location of the second part. Only local residents and those who starred in the film were supposed to go to see the filming. The actors were exemplary and never had to deal with any disagreements. According to the director, there were very friendly relations between them. Each of them had to stick to the exact script, he writes New TV.
However, the praise of this work does not end there, on the contrary. ,One thing I was happy about was when the film hit theaters on July 1, 1989. And in the six months before the revolution, when people stopped going to cinemas, theaters and the like, because the keys were ringing, 4,300,000 people saw it. Today it is an unimaginable number. In the history of Czechoslovakian cinematography, it is absolutely unique and an all-time record in such a short time.” boasts the director.
According to the website eXtra.cz It inadvertently caused a very hostile relationship between directors and directors. “The budget of the first film Sun, Hay, Strawberries was CZK 2,900,000. But I saved up a million crowns, so I gave it back to Barrandov” director Zdeněk Troška recalls this inconvenience.
“When the scene where the slaps were shot was filmed, the budget was 3.9 million kroner, but I returned the million. My fellow filmmakers were angry with me afterwards, because they needed the extra money and because the studio was constantly blaming them for me making popular movies and giving back millions, that they constantly lacked money for, so they kind of hated me.” the director concluded his recollections.
