Scotties Bar is a small business in Palma that is going to donate 150 servings of lentils for those who need it most. Its owners, Elaine and Jose are going through a difficult time, since they have been affected by the restrictions of the hospitality industry, although they believe that it is essential help those who cannot even feed themselves in these difficult times.
They don’t have much, but they have something fundamental: desire to help and solidarity. Something that, they believe, many people lack. In the neighborhood where they live and have their business, there are people who are having a really bad time and a week ago, last Thursday, January 21, they decided to do a great meal to distribute to your neighbors in need. They made macaroni for 120 people last Friday and will be handing out lentils next week.
José explains that the beneficiaries greatly appreciate this type of act and encourage people to help in any way they can. They are having a bad time themselves, but they continue to help, something that is missing from the public administration and of those who have the most. Encourage the president of the Government, Francina Armengol, to lend a hand instead of putting obstacles.
In fact there are many people and companies that are helping them. Above all, the role of their suppliers that, when they were informed that they were going to distribute food, they immediately collaborated in some way: donating food, containers to distribute, etcetera.
He also appreciates the great solidarity that exists between the neighbors, that when they find out through social networks or by word of mouth what they are doing, they do their bit.
