The victim, a 42-year-old man, had moved to that city from Montevideo for a month.
Maragata police have not yet been able to determine who was the author of the homicide of a 42-year-old man, killed by two shots to the chest, in Ciudad del Plata, in the department of San José.
Neighbors in the area called the police after two shots were heard at the scene and after finding the unconscious man at the scene. A patrol car took him to the Ciudad del Plata polyclinic, where minutes later he died.
The man had moved from the capital and had lived in Ciudad del Plata for a month, along with his partner.
A search was carried out in the house where a knife, cocaine and three cell phones were found.
Prosecutor’s Office ordered to take statements from several possible witnesses and refer the case to the Directorate of Investigations of the San José Headquarters.
