The Russian navy controls the actions of the US ship that entered the Black Sea

The Russian Black Sea Fleet controls the operations of the USS Ross, a missile-equipped warship that entered the Black Sea today. This was announced to journalists by the National Center for Defense Management at the Ministry of Defense of Russia, quoted by TASS.

“The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun to control the actions of the warship” Ross “of the US Navy, which entered the Black Sea on June 26,” the national center said, BTA reported.

Earlier today, the US Navy’s Sixth Fleet announced that a US destroyer had entered the Black Sea today, where it would take part in the multinational military exercises Sea Breeze 2021. The Ross is one of a total of 32 ships participating in the naval part of the exercise, which includes forces from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Various exercises are planned at sea, on land and in the air, including combat operations on land, against ships and air defense, as well as the disposal of ammunition.

The US Embassy in Ukraine said earlier that the exercise involved 32 countries with 5,000 troops, 32 ships and 40 aircraft.

On Wednesday, Russia said its warship fired warning shots and a military plane dropped bombs on the course of the British destroyer Defender to drive it out of Russian territory in the Sevastopol region.

Britain rejected the Russian version of what happened. The British authorities stated that Russia had conducted an artillery exercise and that the British warship was in the territorial waters of Ukraine.

Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014, an action not recognized by most countries. Moscow describes the visits of NATO warships near Crimea as destabilizing. In April, it expanded the area around Crimea, closed to foreign warships.
