Specialists from the engineering forces of the Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the arsenal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with thousands of tons of ammunition, including Western production, in the Kharkiv region, the Russian Ministry of Defense said today, quoted by TASS.
The arsenal in the Kharkiv region covers an area of several hundred hectares and has warehouses with thousands of tons of ammunition, “the ministry said. It clarified that ammunition for rocket-propelled grenade launchers is stored in the warehouses, BTA reported.
“This is exactly what the Ukrainian military used to shell residential areas in settlements, constantly threatening civilians,” it said.
The warehouses also store ammunition for small arms, cannons, artillery, air defenses and various grenades, the ministry added, stressing that “in addition to Soviet ammunition, there are mines and Western shells in the hangars.”
