The road to anticipation, frustrated? What happens if Cioloş submits his mandate. Zegrean: Don’t fall into the trap

Augustin Zegrean, former president of the Constitutional Court, explained exclusively for DC NEWS what is the procedure regarding the initiation of the anticipations, after the nomination of Dacian Cioloş as appointed prime minister.

It all started with Marcel Ciolacu’s statement on Monday night.

“The appointment of Ciolos is the first step towards anticipation! I overthrew the Cîțu Government with a motion of censure in which I also criticized the performance of the USR ministers. PNL and USR destroyed Romania side by side for a year. All of Romania knows this “, wrote on Monday evening, on Fcebook Marcel Ciolacu, the president of PSD.

What happens if Cioloş does not reach the Parliament

We wanted to find out what happens if Dacian Cioloş does not succeed in forming a majority coalition and, thus, will not go to the Parliament for an investiture vote, but would submit his mandate, in the context of the early elections.

“It will not be taken into account. The law says there will be two proposals rejected by Parliament. So if he submits his mandate, he will not be considered. What I mean is not to fall into the trap, because the President is not obliged to dissolve Parliament after the second fallen Government. He is allowed, he is entitled, he can do that, but he is not obliged to do it. He can make five, ten, a thousand proposals, until he reaches me. It is a verse upside down by Eminescu, ‘from the Tisza to the Dniester, all Romanians were ministers’. It is not obliged to dissolve Parliament, to trigger early. Besides, no one but him can do that. Even if Parliament resigned, the president would not be obliged to dissolve it, “Augustin Zegrean told DC NEWS.

Asked what would happen in Parliament if, in theory, the majority of parliamentarians resigned, Zegrean said that “their place will be taken by the deputies, because they ran on the lists. And they can’t wait!”.

Cîţu, agreed to talk to Cioloş – SOURCES

Liberal sources quoted by Antena 3 indicate that Florin Cîţu would have agreed to talk to Dacian Cioloş on Wednesday afternoon, but he also set a condition. The PNL leader wants the UDMR leader, Kelemen Hunor, to participate in the discussion.

The information comes just hours after Florin Cîţu, as well as other liberal leaders, suggested that they would not negotiate with the USR to form a new government.
