The residents of Llanera allocate the recycling prizes to the improvement of routes

A recycling initiative in an Asturian city.

Llanera has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to recycling. The neighbors have opted to donate the points obtained by recycling their cans and plastic bottles of drinks with the return and reward system to pay for the installation of selective collection bins on the pedestrian paths that link Lugo with Posada and Posada with San Cucao. “In this way, to the environmental benefits derived from recycling are added others of a social nature that contribute to improving life in the council,” emphasize municipal sources.

The Councilor for Sustainable Development, David Mon, has shown his satisfaction with the neighborhood response. “We are very happy because, once again, it has become clear that the neighbors have, on the one hand, a clear environmental awareness and, on the other, a strong solidarity side,” he said. At the moment, 524 users of the system are registered and 12,072 recyclables have been generated. After the achievement of this collective incentive, the Municipality of Llanera, Cogersa and Ecoembes continue to encourage the use of the “Recycling” program in order to continue contributing to causes that benefit all residents.

In this sense, Mon announces that Llanerenses can now donate their points for the installation of a bank in the recreational area of Santufirme, as a viewpoint. The first solidarity objective consisted in improving the accessibility of the Pepe Quimarán field.

“We are fulfilling the objective of promoting recycling and that citizens have a greater environmental commitment. Recycling in Llanera, in addition to its own environmental benefit, also entails a reward that can come through collaborative projects that are developed within the council itself or through the raffle of sustainable gifts ”, concluded the councilor.
