RIVM: 4665 new infections, much lower than weekly average

4 deceased covid patients were reported to RIVM. In the past seven days, RIVM recorded an average of 3 deaths per day, compared to 1 death per day a week earlier.

Fewer deaths are reported to RIVM on weekends. As a result, these figures are almost always lower on Sunday and Monday than in the rest of the week.

The elderly run a relatively high risk if they get the coronavirus. That is why RIVM registers how many nursing homes have recently had corona cases. There are now 104 nursing homes where at least one corona infection has been diagnosed in the past two weeks. A week ago there were 52.
