The rejected admirer from the Klatovy region called 50 times a day, and finally came with gasoline and a knife

According to the police, the 54-year-old foreigner from one of the villages near Horažďovice broke up with a woman three months ago, and since then he has been trying to convince her that she made a life mistake and should return to it.

“At first, he sent messages to the woman’s cell phone daily or made a phone call 50 times a day, when the victim received only some calls. Subsequently, he also put several letters a day into the mailbox, in which he confessed his feelings and described various threats, “said police spokeswoman Dana Ladmanová on Monday.

The accused allegedly also gave the woman flowers, candles and other gifts at the window and door at her residence. “He was constantly moving around the house, searching for her presence,” the spokeswoman said.

At the end of May, he came to the house again and convinced the woman of his feelings, but after the subsequent refusal, he began to threaten to set fire to her car.

“He was standing by the windows of her home, carrying bottles of wicks and gasoline,” Ladman said. Police then detained the man in the village and did not measure his 2.60 per mille of alcohol in his breath. He ended up in a police cell, but then they had to release him.

But the man continued stalking, still searching for the woman and writing her messages and letters. The annoyance eventually turned into an attack – first the man cut off the woman’s electricity to the apartment, and when she came out to the door, he hit her with his hand. The woman didn’t like it and returned the blow, but the rapist pulled out a kitchen knife and threatened. The woman screamed, calling for help.

Detectives have accused the man of dangerous threats and harassment, and the court has sent him into custody. Stalking faces up to three years in prison.
