AI hardware maker Brainchip has now unveiled two new development kits for its advanced neural network processor Akida, one of which, the ADK1000, comes with a Raspberry Pi 4, reports Tom’s Hardware.
More specifically, it is the Compute Model 4 model with up to 8 gigabytes of memory and 32 gigabytes of storage. The Akida ADK1000 AI accelerator itself is then attached to the Raspberry Pi 4’s PCIe input.
ADK1000 can be used to emulate 1.2 million neurons and 10 billion synapses in a neural network. Up to 64 devices can also be connected via PCIe. The hardware is intended to be used as a stand-alone accelerator or as a support processor.
