The Ministry of Health together with the Unique Center for Organ Donation, Ablation and Implantation (CUDAIO) celebrated this Monday the day of the organ donor, at the Eva Perón school hospital in Granadero Baigorria. This date is commemorated every May 30 and the slogan for this year was “Leave your mark”.

In this sense, the Minister of Health, Sonia Martorano, expressed: “We wanted to celebrate it in this hospital by giving a strong thanks and recognition to all the people who work in the processes of organ procurement, donation, transplantation and ablation, as well as thanking all the donors and their families in our province where we are organ contributors for our entire country”.

“That is why -he continued- today we are calling for awareness in this campaign to sign up as donors and it is to be transformers of pain into love”, he continued.

Likewise, the head of the health portfolio recalled that “we are carrying out an important operation campaign for cataract surgery and resuming all those pathology practices and benefits, the approach to those pathologies that were somewhat relegated by the permanent attention that the pandemic demanded. of Coronavirus. How to start this hospital so that everyone can be operated on time and properly, and this year have the lists without waiting. That is what we are working on in all the different areas in this ophthalmology case.”

Launch of the donation campaign
For his part, the director of the Eva Perón hospital, Tomás Diez, expressed that “the campaign that will be carried out on September 7, 8 and 9 for cataract surgeries, we were and are a hospital that we have dedicated to the care of Covid patients. ”.

“During that period there were a series of pathologies that were delayed, one of them is cataract surgeries, so thanks to the ophthalmology service and together with other distinguished professionals in the city, such as Dr. Ferroni, they are going to carry out this campaign of cataract surgeries. that more than 400 people from the region will operate,” he said.

Finally, the director informed that “to sign up there is a link on the page of the province where there is a telephone number. Thus, there are contact details to consult and in the cases that are applicable, start doing the pre-surgical exams. This is very positive for the region and for the province”.

Finally, the head of CUDAIO, Mario Perichón, expressed that “we are with the Minister again and recently we were with the Governor and the president of Incucai, being the first time that a governor received us. When one donates organs, it leaves a mark, on the family, on who receives the organ, on the intermediary of all this history, which are the jurisdictional bodies such as CUDAIO and Incucai, which are distributed in all the provinces of our country, and a mark for the types of transplants then it seems important to us to leave the mark”.

“Young people have changed a part of the history of donation to our country and have participated remarkably in recent years. High demand for respiratory diseases
When asked about the occupation of beds and given the increase in consultations in the different provincial hospitals, Martorano indicated that “today we are going through a stage of high respiratory pathology, what we call high demand for care and beds for respiratory pathologies ” .

“Covid is increasing, he added. In the last week we exceeded 1,300 cases, that is to say that from one week to the next the cases doubled. In any case, we are talking about 200 cases per day, with a policy of testing people over 50 with risk factors, health personnel, pregnant women or security personnel, and others; so not as many people of people are being tested,” he added.

In addition, the Minister of Health clarified that “in any case, we remember that the testing centers are open and whoever has symptoms can be tested from Monday to Monday, there are testing centers available.”

“On the other hand, what we were saying, there are cases that are on the increase, but we also have adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, everything from the usual respiratory pathology after 2 years of not having so many contacts, especially the pediatric population. We are seeing symptoms especially in pediatrics and that is why in recent weeks we have had much more hospitalization in this age group and we have increased the number of neonatal and pediatric beds, ”he added.

In this context, the official asked the population “that for at least the next 60 days the chinstrap be used as we have in closed environments, which is clearly within the field of health, it is mandatory, within what is transportation, it is good that It is also being used and we are asking that the mask be used in the educational field and in those areas that are closed. This has to do with taking care of our community and especially today. That is why we ask that for the next 60 days the population wears the chinstrap”, concluded Martorano.
