The prosecution in the US wants another 25 years in prison for the American singer Ar Kelly

Prosecutors in the United States asked the court in Chicago, Illinois, for an additional 25 years in prison for American singer Ar Kelly (real name Robert Sylvester Kelly) for crimes related to child pornography, AP reported.

“The only way to ensure that Kelly will not reoffend is to impose a sentence that will put him in prison for the rest of his life,” the prosecutor’s motion said. The document describes the singer’s behavior as “sadistic, posing a serious threat to society.”

Sentencing is scheduled for February 23.

In June 2022, a New York court sentenced Ar Kelly to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking. The singer was found guilty of nine charges, including extortion, child sexual exploitation, kidnapping and bribery. The singer’s ex-wife, whom he married when she was 15, was named as one of the victims.

The Chicago-born rentabee singer achieved worldwide fame in the 1990s with the hits Bump N’ Grind, Gotham City, I Believe I Can Fly. The last of them, released in 1996, brought the singer a Grammy award in three categories. The artist was also nominated for another Grammy Award for the song You Are Not Alone, which he wrote for Michael Jackson.
