The fight against the epidemic continues with containment. French football will probably have to record the end of the championships. According to two possible hypotheses, we have listed the promoted and the relegated.
For the moment, the FFF has not yet decided on the rest of the season and even less on the determination of promoted and relegated to the national, regional or district level. However, for the moment, she has only indicated that there would be no white season before officially deciding Thursday during the COMEX.
We started from this principle to establish a list of promoted and relegated. We have regularly mentioned the different assumptions on Foot National in recent weeks. The main difficulty for the FFF is of course that nothing is provided for in the regulations of the national championships for a stop like the one we are experiencing.
Before making the decision, we wanted to list the promoted and the relegated according to two of the most classic hypotheses, namely: The current classification and the classification at the truce.
Consequences at regional levels
And inevitably, the changes are very numerous depending on the hypothesis adopted. Particularly for those relegated from National 3 to Regional 1. Depending on one or the other of the hypotheses retained, the number of relegated goes from four to five for Paris Ile de France, from three to four in Occitanie …. The decision retained will therefore have serious consequences for the regional divisions and for amateur football.
Other possible hypotheses, the difficulty of choosing the right solution
Of course the two hypotheses below are not the only ones. To take late matches into account, we also regularly discuss the calculation of a point ratio per matches played. Foot National will of course list the promoted and relegated when the FFF officially validates its choice. But listing the two hypotheses below makes it possible to realize the difficulty for the FFF to choose. In one or the other of the formulas, it is sometimes difficult to decide between teams with equal points or with a slight delay but one game less … This is why you will find “or” for some case, where the FFF will have to determine how to decide between teams with equal points or in a disputed situation (one point behind and one game less …..)

It will of course be necessary to wait until Thursday and the official decision of the COMEX to know the fate of the clubs evolving at the national, regional or district level. But here is already an inventory drawn up by Foot National according to two of the many hypotheses which can be retained by the FFF. Of course, one can imagine the difficulty of the FFF teams when choosing when nothing is provided for by the regulations.
