The prominent Italian jazz association “XY Quartet” will perform in Riga

As part of the European tour, the new Italian jazz association “XY Quartet” will perform in Riga on October 31. The band of saxophonist Nikolas Fazini and bassist Alesandro Fedrigo will perform within the concert series “Art of Riga Jazz”, which takes place in the legendary Latvian Radio 1st studio.

The jazz group “XY Quartet” was founded 11 years ago and consists of saxophonist Nikola Fazini, bassist Alesandro Fedrigo, vibraphonist Saverio Taska and drummer Luka Kolusi. Together, they create original, exciting and innovative music, offering contemporary arrangements that flow freely between jazz and contemporary music.

The XY Quartet continues to work on new musical projects and continues to expand its already wide range of music. Four released albums and countless concerts both at home and abroad have made it possible to succeed in international jazz circles, and the Italian music magazine “Musica Jazz” has named the quartet “one of the best Italian bands”. Why is the XY Quartet called the New Jazz Association? “We’ve developed some techniques for composing music and improvising,” says Alessandro, or Y.
