Police arrested the perpetrator with the initials AH related to the alleged case fraud to artist Fahri Azmi. Perpetrators are also taking names President Jokowi.
“It’s true, our members have arrested the perpetrators,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Joko Dwi Harsono in his statement, Sunday (29/8/2021).
Meanwhile, the West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Criminal Crime, AKP Avrilendy, said that the perpetrators moved around during the search. The perpetrator was finally arrested in Palembang.
“The perpetrator AH had moved places. We secured the suspect in one of the houses in the Palembang area, South Sumatra,” said Avrilendy.
The perpetrators are now being detained at the West Jakarta Metro Police for further questioning. It is known that the modus operandi of the AH suspect was claiming to be the envoy of President Joko Widodo.
“If Fahri Azmi said he knew there were several other victims, but the identities of the other victims had not been announced,” said Avrilendy.
“To the victims themselves, we recommend inviting other victims to come to the West Jakarta Metro Police. Of course, we urge anyone who feels they are victims of the same fraudulent mode, which was carried out by this suspect, to report them immediately,” he continued.
Previously, the police had named AH as a suspect in the alleged fraud of artist Fahri Azmi. AH is suspected of using the name of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and claiming to be a candidate for the Minister of Health (Menkes).
Avrilendy said Fahri Azmi’s meeting with AH started with a birthday party for Fahri Azmi’s colleague, which AH attended. At that time, to Fahri Azmi’s colleague, AH claimed to be a specialist doctor to a candidate for Minister of Health.
“A friend (Fahri Azmi) whose birthday was also from the beginning when he met the suspect claimed to be a specialist. Then the delegation from the President, there was a letter of appointment as a candidate for Minister of Health,” said Avirilendy when asked for confirmation, Saturday (28/8).
Suspect AH allegedly has a number of documents related to his claim. The documents have been confiscated by investigators.
AH was charged with Article 372 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud or embezzlement. The determination of the suspect was carried out after the police collected a number of evidences and statements from the victims and witnesses.
