Ecevit Kıymaz (41) was caught and imprisoned for 28 separate theft crimes. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison for these crimes. Kıymaz, who spent part of his sentence in Sincan Closed Prison, was later transferred to Sincan Open Prison. Ecevit Kıymaz called his daughter Kader and said, “I will kill your mother,” and deserted to kill his ex-wife Ayşe O. (36).

Ayşe O., living in Yozgat, called the police on August 11 and reported that “My ex-wife who escaped from prison will kill me”. The Yozgat Police Department teams took action immediately and took Ayşe O. and her daughter Kader K. Ayşe O., who was taken under protection within the scope of the preventive measure, and her daughter were asked to be placed in a women’s shelter. However, when Ayşe O. refused to accept this saying “My ex-wife will find us in the shelter as well”, she was taken to an address they wanted in another city, under the protection of police teams. While Ayşe O. and her daughter were taken under protection for 24 hours at a secure address, Yozgat and Ankara Police started a joint effort to capture Kızmaz. It was determined in the intelligence studies that Kıymaz came to Sorgun district of Yozgat. Here MOBESE and Kıymaz was last seen at Sorgun Bus Terminal in the security camera inspection. While the entrances and exits of the district were kept by the police teams, many addresses in the district center were searched. Kıymaz was arrested on 12 August while investigating the address of the house where his ex-wife lived on Cumhuriyet Avenue.
