The Prague police began investigating alleged cases of sexual violence perpetrated by actor Pavel Trávníček. The Extra.cz and Seznam Zprávy servers drew attention to them. Police are looking for victims and witnesses to check “possible criminal activities of a person named Pavel Trávníček”, as stated in a non-public police document.

“It is under investigation. We are finding out if any wrongdoing has been committed, “police spokesman Jan Daněk told Seznam Zprávy. The police are not allowed to comment on the person at this stage of the investigation. However, the spokesman generally confirmed that the investigation concerns a case mediated in connection with Trávníček.

At the beginning of this year, several women decided to talk about how the famous actor and moderator Pavel Trávníček sexually abused or tried to do so years ago. The Report List provided two such testimonies.

Both women were willing to describe their experience to the editor in person. Their relatives and acquaintances then testified that they had known the story for many years, long before the women decided to publish it.

Pavel Trávníček denied all the accusations and does not comment further on the whole case.

The impulse why the women decided to publish their experience was the testimony of the actress Jana Fabiánová, who was the first to speak about the attack by the well-known psychiatrist Jan Cimický. Subsequently, dozens of women decided to describe a similar experience with this doctor, the case is also being dealt with by the police.

The women who spoke for the Report on the attack by Pavel Trávníček do not know each other, but their experience is almost identical. Trávníček attacked these victims in the locker room of a television studio. He himself worked on television as a moderator of the DO-RE-MI competition at the time.

Trávníčka became famous for the role of the prince in the TV fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella. Last week, President Miloš Zeman presented him with a first-degree medal for services to the state in the field of art at Prague Castle. The president decided to award the medal in 2020, ie before the revelation of the cause of sexual violence. However, the ceremony did not take place in autumn 2020 or autumn 2021.
