The platform for working pensioners is open until Wednesday – 2024-02-21 06:51:04

“By Wednesday, 21/2, the platform for working pensioners will be opened and, within the week, the ministerial decision will be issued,” said the Deputy Minister of Labour, Vassilis Spanakis, speaking on a program of the SKAI TV station.

As he said, on this platform, retirees will be able to declare that they are working.

Also, Mr. Spanakis mentioned that, until today, around 40,000 pensioners were working, while he estimated that, once the platform is activated, this number will increase to over 50,000.

Among other things, the Deputy Minister of Labor clarified that the disability pension will not be cut if the pensioner who receives it is working.

The amount of the supplement for the main pension is calculated based on replacement rates and pensionable earnings and only for the period of employment. The resource in favor of e-EFKA, where it is paid in accordance with the notified provisions, is not remunerative and is not used to increase the already paid pension or to grant a second pension. In the same way, working time or self-employment or part of it is utilized, whenever and if it was spent by the employed pensioners on 12.5.2016 who continued their work or self-employment without interruption when law 4387/16 came into force.

With reference to the birth allowance and the maternity allowance, the Deputy Minister of Labor clarified that “the retrospectives for the birth allowance are from 1/1/2023, while the retrospectives for the maternity allowance are from 24/9/2023”.

Regarding the minimum wage, Mr. Spanakis emphasized that “by March 22, the Labor Minister’s proposal to the cabinet will be made, with implementation on April 1.”

“If some employers do not pay the three years, it is a criminal offense and has administrative penalties,” he added.
