A diverse team with different strengths and perspectives is important to Sebastian Staendecke, Head of Marketing at Bergfreunde. In addition, he relies on so-called T-shape profiles: These are specialists in a subject who also have a good understanding of other disciplines.

In his department, Staendecke makes sure that brand and performance marketing find a common basis despite fundamentally different orientations and objectives. And: The team must have its own data analysts and developers on board in order to be able to act independently and react quickly.

There is no ideal situation for his team, this is constantly changing because the company is a rapidly growing company. “For example, working with existing customers, CRM, is more central to us today than it was two years ago,” explains Staendecke. He relies on a mixture of “experienced marketers and young high potentials”.
