“The pandemic is changing, more infections among the under 40s and more asymptomatic”

The pandemic would be changing. This is said by Takeshi Kasai, director of the Western Pacific office ofthe World Health Organization which explains the new cases and the new infections. «People of 20, 30, 40 years are more and more piloting the diffusion. Many do not know they are infected and this increases the risk of contagion for the most vulnerable ».

The main change is in the type of infected, which mainly affects people under 40 years of age, often asymptomatic, which therefore represent a high risk for the most vulnerable sections of the population.

The new data show a different trend of the disease compared to previous months and also concern Italy. The WHO has observed the pace of the pandemic and to date, South East Asia and the Eastern Mediterranean are driving the increase in cases, while in Europe and America the increase in cases is essentially stable. On the other hand, cases in Africa are decreasing.
