Negotiations with the Russian Federation will only mean that Russia has won, the adviser to the head of the OPU is convinced.
Ukraine now objectively has “no motives” to negotiate with Russia.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, stated this in an interview with Babel.
“Negotiations with the Russian Federation today will mean only one thing: that Russia has won. … Today [переговоры] – this is a recorded defeat of Ukraine, a recorded defeat of Europe, democratic values as such. And after that, the fall of the entire global security system, the system of values to which we identify ourselves, will follow. … Any negotiations today with the available input possibilities, they would have recorded a civilizational catastrophe. Are you ready to go for it? The price that Ukraine has already paid now, and that we are paying, is much higher than the possibility of a ceasefire right now,” Podolyak said, commenting on the opinion of British expert on Ukraine Timothy Ash that peace talks may resume around November 2022 if the UAF gains a strategic advantage in the Kherson region.

According to the adviser to the chairman of the OPU, peace talks today do not solve a single issue for Ukraine. In particular, fixing a new line of demarcation with Russia for Ukraine will mean fixing new “criminal enclaves” that the Russian Federation uses with the help of propaganda in order to subsequently start a new war, Podolyak believes.
“We will get a war with other motives, other executors in six months or a year. If we get a new line of demarcation, the entire center and southern Ukraine will be left without people and in ruins. No one will invest money, no one will return to the houses that are on the line of war – a postponed war. We will get a decline in the economy, a decline in social relations. That is, today’s negotiation process is the same that Putin wanted – the destruction of Ukrainian statehood, only in a different way, “he is convinced.
As UNIAN reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky recently said that Ukraine was not going to give up its territories. And if Russia tries to annex the temporarily occupied regions in the south with the help of so-called “referendums”, then negotiations with our country will be closed to her.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stressed that the chance for negotiations with Russia is possible only with Ukraine’s partners at the table.
