The only author of the so-called golden set at the grand slam, Jaroslava Švedovová, decided to end her tennis career at the age of 34. She made history with a unique piece, which she succeeded in at Wimbledon in 2012, when she did not allow her opponent a single fifty in the first set. The former world three doubles experienced a farewell ceremony on Friday during the WTA tournament in the Kazakh metropolis of Nur-Sultan.

In the third round of Wimbledon nine years ago, Švedová won all 24 exchanges in a row in the opening set over the top ten Sara Errani from Italy.
She finished 25th in the singles singles singles single, single in the doubles, and won the WTA Tour thirteen tournaments, including Wimbledon and the US Open in the 2010 season.

“My career has been long and very successful,” said the mother of the three-year-old twins. She last played at the US Open this year after trying to return last year after a maternity break and a protracted ankle injury. However, the covid-19 stopped her. She will now be the captain of the Kazakh team in the Billie Jean King Cup.
