The occupiers want to seize more territory of Ukraine before the annexation

Analysts believe that they are unlikely to succeed.

The Russian-backed “leadership” continues to announce timelines for seizing new Ukrainian territories, supporting preparations for the referendum on the accession of the occupied territories to the Russian Federation.

It is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

We are talking about the statement of the “First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Information of the DPR” that by the end of August, the “DPR” expects to completely capture the Donetsk region.

“The Russian puppet and occupation leadership is likely pushing for time limits for military purposes to support fast-track annexation terms, although Russian troops are unlikely to occupy significant additional territory in Ukraine before the specified annexation time limit begins,” analysts say.

They made a limited attack northwest of Izyum, probably to secure the rear of the Izyum-Slavyansk line.

Russian forces also carried out limited attacks southwest of Donetsk, close to the border with the Zaporozhye region.

In the south, Russian troops concentrated on the defense of the occupied lines and carried out a limited ground assault in the north-west of the Kherson region. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to strike at Russian logistics centers.
