A medical certificate is usually issued at the beginning of the illness and is paid for by the employer. Approximately 1,300 sick leaves were open in October, but in the first 15 days of November, the number of sick leaves increased to over 10,000.
It should be noted that the data on the sick leaves that were open on the first day of the month have been compiled, plus the sick leaves that were still open at that time.
The number of B-disease leaves has also increased, almost doubling, even comparing data for the whole of October with data for half of November. They are also given for longer periods of time, including Covid-19 and a number of other specific situations. They are paid from the state social budget.
Entrepreneurs tend to challenge sick leave reports submitted by employees. “It simply came to our notice then. In a way, an employee who does not have a vaccination or overdose certificate chooses to take a sick leave, so to speak, during the winter. We have already had a discussion with the Health Inspectorate.
