Due to her departure from royalty and her move to the United States, Prince Harry’s wife has lost popularity with the British. The former actress, who appears in his “Megxit” under the name Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is currently plagued by completely different concerns.
Defeat in court
After the 39-year-old Mail on Sunday had sued for breach of her privacy because she had published excerpts from a letter from her to her father Thomas Markle, Meghan suffered a defeat in court a few days ago.
After an initial hearing in May, the court dismissed parts of their charges as “irrelevant”. Meghan had to agree to pay the legal fees of around 67,888 British pounds (almost 75,000 euros). And it could get even bigger. The London Court of Justice also stated on Wednesday that Meghan agreed on July 22, 2020 to bear the defendant’s costs in full. The British Newspaper The Telegraph even assumes that the total costs for the ongoing litigation could amount to “millions”.
Judge suspects Meghan
Not enough of that. Now Meghan is even under suspicion during the trial. The British media reported, citing a remark by the judge in charge, that the team of the prince’s wife reportedly passed information about the process to the press.
