He European Pharmacovigilance Committee (PRAC) has reported a new side effect related to Comirnaty vaccine (Pfizer) against covid-19. It points out that “there is at least a reasonable possibility of a causal relationship with this adverse reaction” after reviewing all received notifications until June 18, 2022.

Thus, dizziness is now considered a side effect of the Pfizer vaccine which may appear within 24 hours of injection. However, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (Aemps) points out in the 19th Pharmacovigilance Report of the Covid vaccines that it is a “rare” adverse reaction.
From their authorization until November 13, 2022, they have been administered in the European Economic Area (EEA) about 685 million doses of Comirnaty (Pfizer). Besides, about 16.1 million doses of the vaccines have been inoculated Comirnaty bivalentes (original/ómicron BA.4-5).
Regarding the secondary effects derived from the vaccine, there have been a total of 44,280 notifications after receiving original Comirnaty. Of these, the majority correspond to women (73%) and people between 18 and 65 years of age (82%).

To the “adverse events” detected in the previous Pharmacovigilance report, Health now adds dizziness. The PRAC clarifies that this reaction is “rare” and in most cases appears within 24 hours to vaccination.
