The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G improves on three things to the previous one

Samsung has given the new Galaxy Z Flip 5G the prominence it deserves by announcing it before the event on August 5, in which the new Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 2 they would have overshadowed its news.

It is not that they are many news, to be honest, but it is good news that Samsung has renewed one of the best folding phones on the market (less for those who have just bought the model that came out in February, of course).

The first novelty is in the name: Unlike the Galaxy Z Flip, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has 5G. The phone supports NSA and SA networks, Sub6 frequencies and Dynamic Spectrum Exchange (DSS), but not mmWave.

The second novelty is the processor. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G skips a generation and goes from a Snapdragon 855 to a Snapdragon 865 Plus, Qualcomm’s new chip with eight cores and a clock speed of up to 3.09 GHz.

The third novelty is no less important: the Galazy Z Flip It was a magnet for fingerprints, and the Z Flip 5G fixes it with a new matte, soft-touch finish that will be available in two new colors: Mystic Gray and Mystic Bronze. The new Galaxy Note and Galaxy Z Fold are expected to make the same change.

Otherwise, it’s the Galaxy Z Flip that we already knew, with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a flexible 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution, a small external screen of 1.1 inches, 183 grams in weight, dual rear camera (12-inch wide-angle MP f / 2.4 and ultra wide-angle 12 MP f / 2.2), a 10 MP front camera and a 3300 mAh battery.

The phone will arrive in some countries on August 7 for a recommended price. $ 1,450, $ 70 more than the cost of the Z Flip with 4G (which will continue on sale).
