The new Audi RS 3 attracts with a supercharged five-cylinder with an output of 294 kW. So it is clear that this is a very fast car.

The manufacturer also claims that the compact sedan, whose 2.5-liter engine delivers 500 Nm in addition to 294 kW, will accelerate from standstill to 100 thanks to all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in just 3.8 seconds. The maximum speed with a dynamic package is 290 km / h.
In August, Audi also boasted a record entry on the famous North Loop of the Nürburgring. The Audi RS 3 in the sedan body version (sold here as the RS 3 Saloon) has become the new fastest compact Nordschleife car.
The Renault Megane RS Trophy-R still dominated the lower middle class with a time of 7: 45.389, but Audi with Frank Stippler behind the wheel managed to cover the 20.8-kilometer-long track in 7 minutes and 40,748 seconds.
There really is no doubt about the speed and admirable dynamics.

But as the Auditography video suggests, the RS 3 could be even more agile than the manufacturer claims. Its creators managed to accelerate from zero to one hundred in 3.1 seconds! That is 0.7 seconds faster than Audi says.
And that also means, by the way, that the RS 3 handles this discipline as well as, for example, the Audi R8 Coupé Performance Quattro, ie supersport with a ten-cylinder with an output of 456 kW.
But the compact sedan is also faster than the Ferrari Enzo, a supersport with a 485-liter, six-liter, twelve-cylinder that was produced between 2002 and 2004. Ferrari gave a hundred in 3.65 seconds.
Of course, acceleration from a standstill to 100 km / h is not so important, a good sports car must be able to do many more important things. But the ability to give a hundred in 3.1 seconds just has to be appreciated.
