The National Police Chief Says Only 14 Percent Of Banten Residents Have Been Vaccinate

National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that only 14 percent of Banten Province residents had been injected vaccine corona virusCovid-19). Only about 1.8 million were vaccinated out of a total of 13 million Banten residents.

“Banten as an area adjacent to the capital city is still on average 14 percent, so it is necessary to accelerate acceleration to carry out vaccination activities,” said Listyo in Serang, Banten, Sunday (18/7).

Listyo said the National Police together with the TNI would accelerate the vaccination of Banten residents. Groups of students who have the ability to become volunteers will also be included.

“Of course there will be gangs to carry out increased vaccinations in the Banten area,” he said.

In addition to vaccinations that are still low, Listyo also revealed that the level of compliance with health protocols for Banten residents is low. Even below 90 percent.

“There are three regions, Serang City, Pandeglang and one more, the figure is still below 90 percent, around 80 percent to 90 percent, so I hope this needs to be improved,” said Listyo.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Serang, Syafrudin, agreed that there are still many residents who do not comply with health protocols. He believes the low level of compliance makes the number of infections in Serang rise high.

“So indeed this is an obstacle in Serang City due to the increase in exposure to Covid, due to public awareness that does not tighten health protocols,” he said.
