“This is my first time in Antarctica and obviously I’m very excited. Frankly, I can’t imagine how cold it is there. I don’t know if I have to face heavy snow every time I go to work,” the Hilton said.

Hilton said she was very happy with this task. He and other new employees will receive accident first aid courses and participate in seminars from penguin experts.

Each year, the office handles around 80,000 postcards sent to over 100 countries. More than 18,000 people visit Port Lockroy every year. This makes Port Lockroy one of the most visited places in Antarctica and visitor visits are the UKAHT’s main source of income.
