Media reports Jury’s decision to prosecute Trump on criminal charges

Details: For the first time in American history, a current or former president will face criminal charges.

It is noted that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office was investigating Trump for his likely role in a scheme to pay money before the 2016 presidential election for silence and concealment of facts related to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

“This decision will no doubt have a shocking effect across the country, shaking up an American political system that has never seen one of its former leaders face criminal charges,” writes CNN.

The publication notes that the lawsuit against Trump takes the 2024 US presidential campaign to a new stage, as the former president promised to continue running despite criminal charges.
