According to her, such an encouragement could be presented by the VM at next week’s government meeting, but the results of a study on whether ten-day self-isolation in case of Covid-19 risks is safe enough are still awaited.
–
“If we get the Disease from Europe [profilakses] and the ECDC’s opinion that their research (…) shows that ten days of self-isolation is safe enough and that the risks of infection may increase, but only marginally, then we could simply go to ten days of self-isolation as opposed to 14 days, ” said Nike.
–
On the other hand, if no such opinion is received from the ECDC, the VM could suggest that self-isolation may be waived on the tenth day, provided that a negative Covid-19 test is performed on the eighth day.
–
As reported, currently people who have come into contact with a Covid-19 patient or visited countries with a relatively high morbidity rate in Latvia have to observe 14 days of self-isolation.
