Information was extracted from the black box of the fighter that crashed near Shabla on June 9, and the pilot lost spatial orientation. The results confirm the findings of the Military Police from the initial report, which pointed to human error as the cause.

This was announced in a short statement at the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Defense Georgi Panayotov.

“The initial report I received confirms the findings of the Military Police investigation,” he added, adding that final results were still awaited.

Georgi Panayotov also commented on GERB’s repeated criticism of the case of the death of senior lieutenant Todor Manchev in Cheshnegirovo. According to him, not just untruths are told on the subject, but outright lies.

“Neither the Ministry of Defense nor the Military Police Service have the right to investigate this incident. This investigation is being carried out by the Military Prosecutor’s Office. I assume that the accusations will continue because obviously the goal is to be wounded without guilt.” he explained.

Two days earlier, GERB demanded the resignation of Defense Minister Georgi Panayotov and the head of the Military Police for trying to cover up the outcome of the investigation into the death of Lieutenant Todor Manchev.

The Ministry of Defense responded to GERB’s accusations, stating that GERB had submitted another untruths and manipulations from the rostrum of the parliament.
