The Minister of Health revises the salary of the “trainee” doctor, maximum to IDR 6.4 million

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) revises or adjusts Living Expense Assistance (BBH) amount for doctors Internship in Indonesia for 2023.

This review was made after hearing input from various parties. Subsequently, there will be an adjustment to the Decree of the Minister of Health (KMK) regarding the amount of Assistance for Accommodation Expenses that interns will receive which will come into effect from 2023.

“It is our duty in government to absorb the inputs and aspirations of the public, including doctors and dentists as service providers to the community,” Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said in a press release on Friday (12/16/2022).

Budi disclosed that the salary amount will be adjusted according to the 6 categories of practice areas of the doctors in the trainee program.

According to Budi, health system reform through health transformation will not happen if it is not supported by an equitable distribution of human resources (HR).

So hopefully, the program Internship it can improve health services in the regions so that people who have had difficulty obtaining health services can access doctors, dentists and health services.

“BBH in DTPK areas is given higher, with the hope that it will encourage prospective interns to want to choose rides in remote areas, borders and islands.” Budi said.

Here are the sizes.

• First Category: Remote Areas, Borders and Islands (DTPK) with a nominal value of IDR 6,499,575

• Second category: Maluku, NTT and Papua (excluding DTPK) with a nominal value of IDR 3,999,574

• Third category: Kalimantan and Sulawesi (excluding DTPK) for a nominal value of IDR 3,727,034

• Fourth category: Sumatra and NTB (excluding provincial capitals and DTPK) for a nominal value of IDR 3,498,800

• Fifth category: provincial capitals in Sumatra and NTB with a nominal value of IDR 3,241,200

• Sixth category: Java and Bali for a nominal value of IDR 3,241,200.

Previously, the BBH amount for the medical trainee medical program went viral on social media because it dropped to IDR 1.1 million in different regions. This is considered to be the cause of the difficulty for the Ministry of Health to meet the needs of doctors in Indonesia.
