The military training cycle “Namejs 2020” will take place in two phases – in August and the first half of September will train operations in hybrid threat conditions, while in the second half of September and early October a conventional threat scenario will be played.

For the attention of the population!

The cycle of military training will continue intensively in the National Armed Forces in August, September and October. During the training and exercises, military equipment of both Latvian and allied armed forces will move along Latvian roads, but military aircraft and helicopters will fly in the airspace.

The Armed Forces apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for understanding the possible temporary disruption of traffic, which may occur due to the increased movement of military equipment on the roads. Military equipment columns are accompanied by the Military Police or the Relocation Coordination Center. When approaching a column of military equipment, the armed forces call on drivers to follow the rules of the road and not to obstruct the movement of the columns, for example, trying to overtake it.

Residents are urged not to worry, seeing the movement of soldiers and bodyguards outside the military landfills and unit locations, the deployment of machinery and other equipment and taking up positions in various parts of Latvia.

During the training outside the landfills, only training ammunition and combat simulations will be used, which create noise but do not endanger human health and life. However, when unknown objects are found in the study places, it is forbidden to touch or move them.

In Latvian airspace, military aircraft fly only at the altitude and speed specified in regulatory enactments, thus the noise generated is short-lived and does not cause harm to people and property.
As far as possible, operational information on the activities of the National Armed Forces and the Allies is available on the Armed Forces’ Twitter profile @Latvijas_armija, on the Facebook page @Latvijasarmija, as well as on the social network profiles of regular forces and National Guard units.
