There is controversy that the military has stolen the grave of the ‘taekwon girl’ Chial, who died during a demonstration for democracy in Myanmar. It is reported that the military took the body to cover up the fact that he was killed by a police shooting at the scene of the protest.

According to local media Irrawaddy on the 6th, soldiers came to a cemetery in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second city, around 3pm the previous day (local time). This was the site of the graveyard of the god Chial, who died in protests against the coup on the 3rd. The soldiers arrived in trucks, blocked the entrance to the cemetery, pointed guns at the staff, and stole the body of the god Chial.

Newspapers run by the military government on the morning of that day reported, “If Chial was hit by a live bullet, his head would have been damaged.” He added that the authorities are investigating the root cause of Chial Sin’s death.

Chial Shin wore a T-shirt with the phrase “Everything will be OK” and took part in the protests before being disfigured. While learning Taekwondo, he also worked as a dancer and took the lead in protests.

Before participating in the protest, he wrote down his blood type and emergency contact information on Facebook, and left a determined message saying,’Please donate the body.’ They even wore necklaces with these words on. As news of the death of Chial Shin was delivered, social media (SNS) continued to commemorate him and quickly emerged as an icon of resistance.
