NEW YORK – Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday that the Mets’ home in Queens will serve as one of the mass vaccination centers for COVID-19.

The city has established more than 160 vaccine access points to date, including 24/7 centers, and plans to reach 250 sites by the end of the month, according to Blasio.

The city’s first 24/7 vaccination sites in Brooklyn and The Bronx plan to vaccinate up to 2,000 people per day at each location. The sites opened on Sunday, January 10, and are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Seventeen city sites open across all five boroughs this week, and the state opens a mass vaccination site at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on Wednesday. Overall, there are about 160 sites in the five boroughs.
