Former “The Bachelor” Star and NFL Player Unmasked on “The Masked Singer”

Colton Underwood’s Symbolic Journey

Colton Underwood, a former professional football player and star of “The Bachelor,” made history as the first star of the show to publicly come out as gay. Underwood, known as the “Love Bird” on the show, talked about the symbolism of being unmasked and the challenge of putting on a mask after wearing one for most of his life. Despite needing a break from the spotlight to work on his personal life after “The Bachelor,” Underwood felt that this season was the right time to embrace a new challenge.

DeMarcus Ware’s Singing Passion

DeMarcus Ware, a former NFL player and the “Koala” on “The Masked Singer,” received an invitation to appear on the show after producers saw him perform the national anthem at the football Hall of Fame. Ware expressed his passion for singing and his joy at being able to show off his talent on the show. He also shared his personal connection to the Koala costume, as it reminded him of his two-year-old son’s favorite stuffed toy.

Panel Guesses

The panel of judges on “The Masked Singer” made their guesses for the identities of the unmasked celebrities. For the Love Bird, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg correctly guessed former “The Bachelor” star Colton Underwood. Robin Thicke and Rita Ora made incorrect guesses, while Ken Jeong made a joke guess. As for Koala, none of the panelists were able to correctly identify DeMarcus Ware, although they did guess other former football players.

Hosted by Nick Cannon, “The Masked Singer” Season 11 features a panel of judges consisting of Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke. For this season, Rita Ora joined the panel as a temporary replacement for Nicole Scherzinger, who was in London for a theater production.
