The Marine Commander told about the last days of suffering and deprivation in “Azovstal” VIDEO

Acting Commander of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Sergei Volinsky describes the last days of the siege of the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol by the Russian armed forces.

According to him, the Ukrainian fighters had major problems with ammunition, firearms and equipment. There were also problems with the water, food and morale of Ukrainian defenders. Volinsky said this while in captivity, reports the Ukrainian edition of “Focus”.

According to him, there were many wounded and killed Ukrainian servicemen, and the Russian army had a great superiority over the APU.

“The Russian Federation had the upper hand in aviation, artillery, armored vehicles, tanks and manpower. We were completely surrounded,” he said.

How they managed to reach Azovstal

The Ukrainian serviceman also tells how he and the other soldiers managed to penetrate Azovstal from the territory of the Ilyich plant in Mariupol.

According to him, he should have acted together with his commander – the commander of the 36th separate brigade of marines Vladimir Baranyuk, but his column was broken during the retreat, and an order to move from him did not follow.

“About 200 boys left with me, mostly from the Marines I served with. We prepared, put the Z mark on the equipment and headed for Azovstal,” he said.
