Chairman of the Shura Council of the Ummat Party Amien Rais strongly criticized President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Amien Rais’s criticism of Jokowi-Luhut received various responses from government supporters.
Ummat Party spokesman Mustofa Nahrawardaya said he had tried to ask Amien Rais about the spotlight on Jokowi-Luhut. According to Mustofa, Amien even issued a strong criticism of Jokowi-Luhut because of the current state of the country.
“I tried to contact Pak Amien, but he hasn’t been able to connect. When he is worried about this nation, it’s a bit difficult to contact him,” Mustofa told reporters, Monday (4/4).
Mustofa explained that Amien Rais has a strong basis for criticizing the current conditions, especially against Jokowi-Luhut. According to him, Amien Rais was one of the leading reformers and Muhammadiyah figures so that the ‘intake’ of political acid was considered to exceed all cadres in the Ummat Party.
“Well, usually when Mr. Amien has said that, it means that the condition of this nation is very, very precarious. Almost all paths of truth are closed, and it is difficult to penetrate the thick walls of the regime,” said Mustofa.
“It means, whoever the name is called, it is likely that it will have a big influence. Be it a negative influence or a positive influence on this nation,” he said.

Amien Rais’s criticism only towards Jokowi and Luhut, Mustofa tried to explain. The two figures, according to Mostafa’s assessment, have a major influence on the current condition.
“In this context, Pak Amien only mentions Pak Jokowi and LBP to stop in 2024. Yes, my analysis is that these two officials are considered the key sources of the country’s main problems. Regarding other names that are not mentioned, for example Pak Ma’ruf Amin as Vice President , I just no comment,” he added.
Gerindra is heartened
Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Habiburokhman responded to Amien Rais’ strong criticism of the Jokowi government. Habiburokhman said the criticism would be accommodated as input.
“Yes, we can accommodate criticism as input, as those in our power, we must of course be proud,” Habiburokhman said when contacted, Monday (4/4).
Habiburokhman assessed that what Amien Rais said was aimed at the benefit of Indonesia. He also prayed that Amien Rais would always be healthy so he could criticize state officials.
